The Baltimore County Bar Association Pro Bono Committee provides pro bono legal assistance through its Lawyer in the Lobby Program. Typically, two lawyers are present to provide pro bono legal assistance on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Consultations are limited to 20 minutes per participant, in order to assist the greatest number of individuals.
- If an individual, within a period of one year, has previously discussed a legal problem with a pro bono attorney volunteer, the volunteer attorneys will not be obligated to provide a consultation concerning that same problem unless the consulting attorney, in his or her discretion, decides to do so.
- If the consulting attorney decides to provide such a consultation, all new participants shall be seen before the repeat visitor.
- If no one has arrived for consultations by 5:30 p.m., the attorney(s) will not stay until 6:30 p.m. Therefore, it is advised that people who wish to receive this free consultation arrive before that time to sign in.
