In Chambers with Judge Glass

IN CHAMBERS WITH THE HONORABLE JULIE L. GLASS

One of the first things you notice when you enter the chambers of Baltimore County Circuit Courts Judge Julie L. Glass is is a large plate on display which reads “A woman of valor makes the world change.” That is the motto Judge Glass follows when she takes the bench each day—to try to make the world change for the better. Judge Glass, who is currently sitting on the Criminal docket, will be moving to the family docket in January 2015.

 Judge Glass was kind enough to share some of her favorite things with The Advocate:

Favorite Local Restaurant: Towson Hot Bagels

Favorite Baltimore Restaurant:  Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Favorite Football Team: Ravens (of course!)

Favorite Baseball Team: Orioles (of course!)

Favorite vacation:  To Jackson Hole, Wyoming to visit family and a trip she took to Costa Rica

Favorite way to spend her free time: Spending time with her family and coaching co-ed  soccer

Favorite Book(s):  She just finished all of Gillian Flynn’s books (Gone  Girl, Dark Places, and Sharp Objects)  over the summer

Favorite Movie: The Wizard of Oz

Favorite thing about becoming a judge: Making a difference in people’s lives

Favorite memory of practicing law:  When she was sworn into the U.S. Supreme Court  witnessed by her father Gerald (“Jerry”) Glass, Esquire

If you were not practicing law: She would have liked to be a surgeon or FBI agent

Person you would most like to meet: My father in law, Stanley Becker. He passed away before I met my husband.

Her guilty pleasure: York Peppermint Patties and Oreo cookies.gore brothers

Her Professional Pet Peeve: When lawyers ask for relief without citing the proper  authority
