A paralegal is available to meet with individuals for a limited amount of time (15-20 minutes each) to assist in completing forms to be filed with the Court by an individual who is not represented by an attorney (i.e., pro se) which involves child support, custody, visitation or uncontested/simple divorce ONLY. They WILL NOT, under any circumstances, draft or assit in drafting emergency motions or petitions, including requests for ex parte relief.
Individuals are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis according to the sign-in sheet available. You must complete the Intake Sheet and Agreement for Legal Information (Not Legal Advice) in order to be seen. These forms are available in the Self Help Office.
Forms for filing with the Circuit Court for Baltimore County can be obtained at the Circuit Court Law Library, or on the Maryland Judiciary website. Additional assistance is available at Maryland's Peoples Law Library and in their Directory.
If you are considering filing for custody in Maryland, there is a new online tool which will walk you though a series of questions and ask you to provide information. At the end of the process, you will have the appropriate Maryland Domestic Relation forms for custody, filled out and read to print.
